Being Alone on the Holidays & Special Occasions

We can work, sleep, eat, run, or drink away our feelings on the typical day…. but on these days - our deepest desires and feelings start to leak out and may trigger us into a spiral of depression and despair.

The Holidays are the most wonderful time of the year….?? We are told it is a time to be joyous - but the fact is that many of us find it to be one of the most challenging times of year filled with much disappointment and sadness.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are said to be about giving, but they really are about Family and Love. If you don’t have either, the holidays are a stark reminder of what you don’t have and that loneliness is so painful, you can physically feel it!

If you don’t have a family and you don’t have a real relationship - the the holiday season is the most painful time of year to be alone. If you’ve ever spent a holiday alone than you know it’s only about giving if you have people around who actually care about you.

The Pain Of Being Single On The Holidays

For those of us who have left toxic and bad relationships the holidays can be some of the most painful days due to sharing kids or missing someone you used to love that you know is no good for you

You may be tempted to date and look for another relationship, BUT that would be a HUGE mistake…

  • Have you healed from what brought that toxic person into your life?

  • Have you recovered from all you were put through?

  • Have you built yourself back up?

  • Do you know who you are?

  • Do you know your boundaries?

  • Do you love yourself 100%?

  • Are you strong enough now to walk away from someone else if they exhibit red flags or treat your poorly?

  • Is your heart healed?

If you cant say YES! to the above, focus on healing yourself!!

Protect your heart this time around. Be VERY SELECTIVE who you let into your life.

You only get one life - and you deserve a Real Love!

NOT Fake Love like some off and on again thing, not someone who love bombs and leaves when it gets hard, not someone who is never there, not someone who wants to change you, not someone who you spend more time chasing than loving.

STOP IDEALIZING LOVE

Our culture is filled with rom-coms, fantasy TV shows of undying love (thanks CW!), and fake-a s**social media - ALL pretending that LOVE is absolutely the only thing that we really need.

NO IT’S NOT!!

Love is not the ONLY thing that we need! Watch my video to find out more of what you need before you even think of dating!

If this holiday hurts for you - it’s time to get back to loving yourself. Because when you really love yourself, you’re never alone.
