How to Stop Being Clingy and Needy

Do you feel needy and clingy?

It’s soo normal to feel needy after a bad relationship or after never having your needs met and it’s not “bad.”

YOU are not “bad.”

It doesn’t mean there’s anything “wrong with you” or that your “too much.”

You could have been told these things or just shown these things [by being ignored by unavailable caretakers or even worse ….by dirty looks or rolled eyes every time you tried to express a want or need, etc.]

ALL YOUR “NEEDINESS” MEANS…

  • You have unmet needs from childhood

  • You are getting caught up in one-sided relationships,

  • you may need to learn how to meet your own needs

  • you may have a past where your emotional needs for being loved, safe, and saying no were not met so you feel needy and may feel like your needs have never been met

Pych Central talks about how past trauma can effect how we show up in our relationships. Read more about it here.

AND you may not know how to take care of your own needs or "Fill up your own cup."

You can change this! Here’s how:

1. Require Reciprocity or give and take in your relationships or leave them alone.

2. Start healing your neediness and giving yoruself all the love and acceptance you craved as a child. If you want 1 on 1 help, scroll to the top of the page to check out how to work with me.

3. Go to last weeks blog - How to Stop Being Needy, you can stop being needy FOREVER by learn to take care of yourself.
